Information for Parents

CSRCLC 1 The Charlotte Scottish Rite Children’s Learning Center provides services to children who are experiencing problems in speech/language development or whose academic progress is being affected by delays in spoken or written language. Our services include speech/language and language/learning evaluations, hearing screenings, short-term therapy, consultative services with schools and parent-training programs.

There are several forms that will be used to gather information about your child. This information will help us select appropriate evaluation instruments to meet your child’s individual needs. If you are interested in having your child evaluated, please answer the questions to the best of your ability and return the forms as soon as possible. All information shared with our Center will be kept confidential and will not be released without parental consent.

Please send copies of any educational and/or cognitive testing previously administered regarding your child. We must have this as early as possible so that an adequate amount of time is available to review the information. This information will enable to us to determine how to best serve your child. Following the receipt of the completed Case History form, Release and copies of any outside testing, we will call to schedule your child for an evaluation if deemed appropriate.

The Children’s Learning Center is a charitable project of the North Carolina Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation. Donations are greatly appreciated and help us to continue to serve children. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Center may send it to:

All services are available to families regardless of race, creed or color. Policy guidelines specify that the children serviced by our Center must exhibit normal intelligence and demonstrate the potential to achieve. The children’s delays cannot be caused by such primary disabilities as severe emotional problems, autism, deafness, blindness or mental retardation.

We look forward to meeting you and your child and hope we may be of some assistance.
